Description
Sri Tulaveshwara Temple – Basrur
Land Donation Appeal (Bhoodana Seva)
Dear Devotees,
Sri Tulaveshwara Temple of Basrur stands as a sacred emblem of Tulunadu’s religious, cultural, and spiritual heritage — a divine abode that continues to be the centre of faith for countless devotees even today.
In a recent Ashtamangala Prashne conducted under the leadership of TuluWorld Foundation and the guidance of revered spiritual scholars, Lord Tulaveshwara revealed His divine will — that the temple premises must be expanded to restore its ancient grandeur and strengthen the divine presence for generations to come.
At present, the temple possesses only two cents of land, and it has become essential to relocate the Archaka (priest) family by constructing a new residence for them. It is also necessary to acquire the surrounding lands — peacefully, through donation or purchase — so that, according to the divine message, this entire region may be developed into a sacred Deva Bhoomi, wholly dedicated to Lord Tulaveshwara and Goddess Tulaveshwari.
As history bears witness, Tuluvakka Heggadthi, the noble queen and guardian of Tulunadu, once offered sacred land (Bhoodana) to Lord Tulaveshwara and Goddess Tulaveshwari, thereby setting an eternal example of devotion, leadership, and sacrifice. Following her divine legacy, offering land in the name of these deities is regarded today as one of the most sacred and noble forms of donation.
Now, Lord Tulaveshwara has once again blessed every devotee of Tulunadu with this rare opportunity to serve. Hence, in accordance with the vision of the Sri Tulaveshwara Temple Renovation Committee, every devotee is humbly invited to contribute towards the acquisition of land for temple development — by donating according to their capacity, at the rate of ₹1000 per square foot or more.
Those who donate land in the name of the deity will receive the eternal blessings of the divine, and those who contribute financially will equally share in this sacred merit — an act that symbolizes the repayment of the Divine Debt (Deva Runa) owed to the gods and the sacred soil of Tulunadu.
For all who have lived in this blessed land — who have breathed its air, drunk its water, and shared its food — supporting this divine revival is an act of gratitude, devotion, and sacred service to our gods and ancestors.
If we all come together with unity and faith, then with the divine blessings of Lord Tulaveshwara, Goddess Tulaveshwari, Varaha Panjurli, and all the Parivara Daivas, this temple will soon rise again in its ancient glory and divine magnificence.
We wholeheartedly invite all devotees to participate in this sacred mission with body, mind, and wealth, so that your name may be eternally inscribed in the divine chronicles of Sri Tulaveshwara’s sacred service and history.
With devotion and gratitude,
Sri Tulaveshwara Temple Renovation Committee, Basrur
In association with TuluWorld Foundation, Kateel and Tuluva Mahasabha
